Renee Gruber is a personal injury attorney with nine years of experience in slip and falls, trip and falls, motor vehicle crashes, general negligence and dog bites. Renee also has years of experience in management, small business ownership, human resources, finance, non-profit work, legislative drafting, health care services and legal.
Renee obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School. Renee specialized in employment litigation, private sector labor law, disability rights, elder law, health care law and torts. Renee graduated Cum Laude, within the top twenty (20) of her class. She was a research assistance for legal writing and was a published author for the law review. Renee received books awards for Urban Law Clinic where she successfully represented a traumatic brain injury (TBI) client to receive Social Security benefits. Renee also received book awards in business organizations, elder law, and taxation.
Renee was a G Mennen Moot Court Competition Quarter Finalist and was Treasurer of the Student Bar Association Renee was also a Voice for Justice Auction chairperson raising scholarships for law students to defend economically disadvantaged persons needing legal aid. While in law school, Renee also drafted legislation that was successfully passed to stop scrapping in Detroit to combat the blight epidemic.
Renee started out working at Legal Aid and Defender’s Association and at a boutique employment discrimination law firm in the heart of Detroit. Renee moved into personal injury and started her own practice at a boutique law practice in Birmingham. One of her first cases was against Ovation Brands, Fire Mountain Restaurant, due to a fan blade that came crashing down on her client’s neck causing a neck surgery. Another unique case Renee represented was a client that tripped and fell on a rug in a movie theater causing neck surgery. Renee has representing trucking crash victims, trip and fall, slip and fall, general negligence, employment discrimination, and dog bites.
Renee enjoys playing volleyball, softball, bowling and golfing. Renee especially enjoys golfing in scrambles and her favorite is the Detroit Mediation Tribunal Association’s golf outing.
